The Geoffrey Harrison Foundation, founded in 2011 by Harrison Catering Services, was established to support aspiring young people to advance their education and learning in connection with the hospitality industries, providing valuable life skills and a pathway to a very rewarding, creative and successful career in hospitality.
To date, The Geoffrey Harrison Foundation has secured £694,644 of funds which includes charitable donations from the Savoy Educational Trust. Through the continued and successful growth of the courses at the University of West London (2012), Westminster Kingsway College (2012), Lakefield Hospitality College (2019) and Loughborough College (2020), the charity has supported over 1,381 students, typically year 9,10 and 11. These courses offer a fun and stimulating environment, which enables students to gain valuable life skills and insight working within a professional kitchen, before committing to a full-time catering course.
“Over the past decade, we have seen The Geoffrey Harrison Foundation evolve and expand its reach and it was therefore important the website showcased its achievements, with the main aim to encourage more young people to consider hospitality as an exciting, rewarding, worldwide career opportunity, and create a more enjoyable user experience. We are immensely proud of what all the students have accomplished over the years and we are excited to see what the future holds. We look forward to welcoming the next generation of young people, to participate in the comprehensive courses supported by the foundation” says Claire Aylward, Joint Managing Director at Harrison Catering Services.
